The candidates in Virginia’s 7th congressional district, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (D) and Delegate Nick Freitas (R), are participating in a VPM candidate forum Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Robert Costa, from PBS’ “Washington Week” and The Washington Post is moderating the forum. This will be the only face-to-face forum in which Spanberger and Freitas participate.

Spanberger released the following statement ahead of the forum: “This year, the healthcare of our neighbors is on the ballot. Our response to COVID-19 is on the ballot. And our economic recovery and renewal are on the ballot. In Congress, I’ve focused on lowering healthcare costs, fighting the COVID-19 crisis, and expanding opportunity for the next generation — while working across the aisle to accomplish these priorities. My opponent has a record of taking extreme votes against these priorities and values, and I look forward to comparing his rhetoric to my record of engagement and cooperation as we debate the issues most important to Central Virginians,” said Spanberger. “At this moment, we need to focus on how we move our district and our country forward. I’d like to thank ChamberRVA for hosting this event and VPM for making sure our communities are able to watch this discussion, even in a time marked by uncertainty and health risks.”

You can watch live on VPM and it will be streamed online on VPM’s Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter pages.
