President Donald Trump participated in a tele-rally Thursday night with Virginia Republican Reps. Rob Wittman, VA-01, Jen Kiggans, VA-02, and John McGuire, VA-05.

“They are incredible. They’re warriors,” Trump said of the three. “I work with them all the time, and we’ve won so much and gotten so many things that nobody else could have gotten.”

Kiggans, who is perhaps the biggest target for a flip from Democrats, was called an “incredible advocate for Virginia’s Second Congressional District” by Trump.

“She’s a former Navy helicopter pilot. They say a really good one, by the way. I did ask that question. They say she’s really good, and in Congress she’s fought to grow the economy and put more money in your pockets,” Trump continued.

The president also attacked Kiggans’ opponent, former Rep. Elaine Luria, who lost to Kiggans in 2022.

“She’s part of the Pelosi corruption scandal that’s going on in Congress,” Trump said about Luria. “Virginia already fired Elaine once. She was fired. She was there. She got fired, and we don’t want her back.”

Wittman is also a top target for Democrats in Virginia after Gov. Abigail Spanberger won his district in 2025.

Trump mentioned Wittman’s service as vice-chair of the House Armed Services Committee.

“He helped deliver the largest investment in our military in history, and your state is a very big, very very big place for the military,” Trump said.

“[Wittman] was also the pivotal vote for the largest tax cuts in the history of our country, including what I just said: no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on social security for our seniors,” Trump continued. “And he voted for the Save America Act, and we’re going to get the Save America Act passed.”

Trump then focused on Wittman’s opponent, Henrico Commonwealth Attorney Shannon Taylor.

“Totally radical left, and she’s crazy,” he said.

Taylor responded with a statement to Virginia Scope after the rally concluded.

“After nearly 20 years in Washington, Rob Wittman has become a part of the culture of corruption that is costing Virginia families,” she said. “Wittman spends more time serving his party bosses and corporate donors than he does working for Virginians. The receipts are damning: while he’s trading $2.5M in stocks in office, Virginians are paying more for gas, groceries, and health care. No telephone rally can change his record.”

After Trump concluded his remarks, Wittman and Kiggans both spoke on the call.

“We want to make sure that we hold a majority, so we can continue to do the great things that have been accomplished for this country,” Wittman said as he encouraged listeners to vote and then get their friends to vote.

Kiggans seemed to acknowledge the tough battle she is in in VA-02, which tends to vote the opposite of the party in the White House.

“This is going to be a turnout game,” she said. “It is such a tight election… Very purple district, very flip-floppy. So we have got to get our voters out this time.”

McGuire also encouraged Republicans to vote and thanked Trump for his work as president.

Early voting begins Friday, September 18. Election Day is Nov. 3.
