State Navigate released a new poll on redistricting and Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s approval rating Wednesday morning.

The “Vote Yes” campaign is leading by 5 points according to the poll. Yes accounts for 50.7% and No accounts for 45.4%. The special election for voters to either approve the change to the congressional maps or deny it is on April 21.

Democrats are overwhelmingly backing the measure, with 92% saying they have voted or plan to vote yes and 5% opposed. Republicans are similarly unified in opposition, with 95% voting no and 2% supporting it, according to the poll.

Among true independents — those who do not lean toward either party — 56% say they are voting no, while 32% say they are voting yes.

Among likely voters, 47% approve of Spanberger’s job performance, while 47% disapprove. Intensity skews more negative: 41% strongly disapprove, compared with 31% who strongly approve. Another 11% somewhat approve, and 4% somewhat disapprove.
