Republican Gov-elect Glenn Youngkin and former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe raised a combined $138 million, nearly double the previous most expensive campaign to become Virginia’s chief executive.

The United States Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg will be in Richmond today touting the new infrastructure deal that was recently passed in Washington D.C.
First, Sec. Buttigieg will join U.S. Representative Donald McEachin, Governor Ralph Northam, Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, and others for a walking tour in the Jackson Ward neighborhood in Richmond.
Following the walking tour in Richmond, Buttigieg will join Rep. Abigail Spanberger and McEachin for a news conference at an active construction site for a project to connect Virginia Center Commons to GreenCity and the new Fall Line trail. Sec. Buttigieg will deliver remarks and take questions on how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law delivers for Virginia and invests in our nation’s supply chain.
In the race for VA-07, Republican candidate John McGuire continues to harp on HB 257, the law that has caused a lot of controversy this year after it removed the requirement for school officials to report every single crime to authorities.
McGuire sent the following email Thursday:
Democrat leaders in Virginia have caused quite the controversy with passing House Bill 257 or better known as the “Predator Protection Act”! This bill allows schools to refrain from reporting crimes like Sexual Battery and Stalking to law enforcement, putting the safety of our children at stake!
With the Democrat supported bill getting a lot of attention lately, I wanted to see what you thought about it. Take a second to answer the poll below!
It is important to understand how the community feels about issues like the one mentioned above. Children are a key part of our community and deserve to feel safe when they are attending school. This Democrat bill does the exact opposite!
