The most prominent Republican detractor of former President Donald Trump lost big time in a primary Tuesday night. Cheney’s loss for her Wyoming seat in the House of Representatives finally gave Trump fans something to cheer about this year.
Trump’s biggest fan in Virginia, state Sen. Amanda Chase (R-Chesterfield) joined in on the celebration Wednesday morning by calling out the Republicans who voted to censure her last year over her efforts to try and overturn the 2020 elections results.
“Thank God the people of Wyoming have spoken and Republican Traitor Liz Cheney is out! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” Chase wrote Wednesday morning.
Chase first called out the two primary opponents she has for her state Senate seat. “My two opponents former State Senator Glen Sturtevant and Tina Ramirez should end their campaigns today in light of today’s results,” she wrote. “American First candidates are soundly beating their opponents. If they were wise, they would take notice of today’s results and respectfully bow out. I am the people’s choice; not the ‘Liz Cheney’ Republican’s choice.”
She then turned to Senate Republican Leader Tommy Norment and Sens. Jill Vogel (R) and Bryce Reeves (R).
“Virginia has it’s own Liz Cheney Republicans,” she wrote. “Senator Tommy Norment, Senator Bryce Reeves and Senator Jill Vogel ALL joined Senate Democrats to censure me in 2020 because I said the 2020 Presidential election was stolen and I peacefully participated in the Stop the Steal January 6 rally.”
Chase was censured by the state Senate last year for repeated claims that the election was stolen by Democrats. Chase was also present in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6 but did not storm the Capitol Building with insurrectionists.
Chase’s censure in the state legislature was the first since 1987.
“Senator Norment just recently held a fundraiser for one of my opponents, former Republican State Senator Glen Sturtevant, who got canned by the people of his district because he turned his back on gun owners and conservatives when he voted for red flag laws and sponsored the so called Equal Rights Amendment,” Chase continued.
This is the second day in a row that Chase has attacked Sturtevant for his voting record and the Equal Rights Amendment. When reached for comment about Chase’s previous email attacking him, Sturtevant said he doesn’t read “spam.”
The primary for Chase’s seat doesn’t take place until 2023, nearly a year from now.

- He reported $100,512 cash on hand
- State Senator Amanda Chase has raised $21,779
- She reported $37,432 cash on hand
- Tina Ramirez has raised $183,166
- She reported $129,309 cash on hand
- $145,000 of her total was transferred from her congressional account. She was running for VA-07 before redistricting changed the lines and put her in Rep. Wittman’s district.
- There is no Democratic candidate in this district yet.
