Virginia has not been immune as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the country. Overall, Virginia’s cases are not rising at an alarming rate but they are trending in a bad direction. Right now the Commonwealth is seeing a 7-day average of around 1500 new cases per day.

As the numbers rise and likely continue to rise over the holidays when people gather indoors, we want to keep communities informed of the conditions in their communities. Starting today, we will begin publishing updates for individual communities. Like our page on Facebook or check back here to see the updates when they are published.

“COVID-19 is surging across the country, and while cases are not rising in Virginia as rapidly as in some other states, I do not intend to wait until they are. We are acting now to prevent this health crisis from getting worse,” said Governor Northam.“Everyone is tired of this pandemic and restrictions on our lives. I’m tired, and I know you are tired too. But as we saw earlier this year, these mitigation measures work. I am confident that we can come together as one Commonwealth to get this virus under control and save lives.”
