11/20/2020 Update:

In a COVID-19 update provided by the Virginia Department of Health, Petersburg has reported numbers on COVID-19 that continue to be in a much better position than the rest of Virginia.

Petersburg is reporting a 7-day average of two new cases a day and a 7-day average number of new daily cases reported per a population of 100,000 as 6.3. The rest of Virginia is at 23.6, Colonial Heights is at 12.8, and Chesterfield is above 20.

In total, Petersburg has seen 1,031 cases, 91 hospitalizations, and 31 deaths. Governor Northam recently tightened restrictions around the Commonwealth as the numbers continue to surge.

We will continue to provide new information as it is received.
